The GSEF Members Referral Network fosters an ecosystem where members collaborate, support, and grow together. At the heart of this collaboration is our innovative Referral and IOU Program, designed to ensure value exchange and mutual support for all members. The program encourages members to connect businesses, even beyond the network, and rewards such contributions with IOU notes a token of commitment to reciprocate value in the future.

How the Referral and IOU System Works

The Referral and IOU Program ensures that members actively engage with each other to fulfill business requests while maintaining a balance of goodwill and accountability. Here’s how it works across two scenarios:

In-Network Referral

  • Step 1: Company A posts a request for a service (e.g., website design).
  • Step 2: Company B, which offers website design services, accepts the request and completes the work.
  • Step 3: As part of the network, Company B offers Company A 30% discount on the service as a member benefit.
  • Step 4: Both companies issue IOU notes to each other:
    • Company B issues an IOU to Company A, agreeing to offer referrals or value equivalent to the discount in the future.
    • Company A issues an IOU to Company B, agreeing to provide referrals or equivalent value in the future.

Out-of-Network Referral

  • Step 1: Company A posts a request for a service (e.g., website design).
  • Step 2: No member in the network can fulfill the request.
  • Step 3: Company B knows a third-party service provider, Company C (not part of the network), that can fulfill the request.
  • Step 4: Company B introduces Company C to Company A, and the transaction is completed.
  • Step 5: Both Company A and Company B issue IOU notes to each other:
    • Company A issues an IOU to Company B for facilitating the introduction.

Company B issues an IOU to Company A, acknowledging its future commitment to provide additional referrals or equivalent value.

What Makes the Referral and IOU Program Unique?

    • An SME uses IOU credits to secure priority assistance on a future project.
